Piha/Karekare: Updates on road repairs
For any new roading or existing roading issues, such as potholes or clogged road culverts, please feel free to report these to Auckland Transport. Urgent maintenance requests, such as new slips, can also be reported to the Auckland Transport roading and parking call centre on 09 355 3553 (24 hours, 7 days a week).

Piha remediation work
AT and Downer (the contractor undertaking the repair works in Piha) have been reviewing the sequencing of the works for Piha Road, Glenesk Road and Rayner Road and will confirm the programme for these this week. Once plans are confirmed, we will let you know when works will begin.
We’d previously advised that the repair works for Rayner Road were due to start shortly. This was an internal miscommunication that has been identified and resolved. We apologise to residents for the mistake and any undue stress it may have caused.
Karekare remediation work
As previously advised, Fulton Hogan has completed the first phase of remediation works and have handed back maintenance of Karekare Road and Lone Kauri Road to Ventia (who hold the existing road maintenance contract with AT). Designs for the long-term remediation of the significant slip sites around Karekare are currently being processed by Fulton Hogan, with works to re-commence later this year.
Scenic Drive
Plans for remediation work on Scenic Drive at the Elevation Slip site are in the final stages of approvals, though a start date for these works is yet to be finalised.
