Notice of Rabbit Cull from Auckland Council

For your information:

 Combined Local and Regional Parks rabbit control by night shooting will take place across Piha, Karekare and Whatipu Scientific Reserve (see maps below) over the period 25-28th October and 31st Oct- 03rd November.

 Control will be using thermal imagery and silenced .22 rifles. Police will be informed of shoots taking place. Signage will be installed prior to the operation, and the operation takes place at night where minimal interactions with the public are anticipated. The team are aware of shorebirds in these area.
