Piha Road & Security Update 18 April
It has been difficult to get and clear answers on what Auckland Council and Auckland Transport are considering with regard to opening Piha to the general public.
Here is what we know:
Auckland Council has appointed a “Piha Community Liaison Officer” his name is Simon Frazer.
Piha R&R Assn. has asked him “When will the Piha Road be opened” and “What are the plans for security of stickered homes?”
We noted that Auckland transport must make a decision and publicise the decision with the backup information on which the decision is made. No decision is not an option.
Simon has said on Monday, “I can let you know that I have actively been working on the roading and cordon issue today, which will include consideration of security when the cordon comes down. This is one of my priorities this week to get some resolution on.“
No concrete timeframe on when there’ll be a decision just yet, but I expect to be able to communicate more details to yourself and the community soon.
