Piha Road & Security Update - 2 May
It is still difficult to get and clear answers on what Auckland Council and Auckland Transport are considering with regard to opening Piha to the general public and with security for stickered homes.
Here is the lates we know:
Simon Fraser, Piha Community Liaison Officer, has held meetings with stickered home owners and other interested parties in Piha over the past week to ensure security concerns for properties are appropriately addressed before any cordon changes are made.
Changes to the Piha cordon arrangements are expected to be announced today, 3 May, and we will share the changes as soon as possible. Newsletter now available HERE
An up-date Newsletter is being assembled and is expected to be circulated today, 3 May, HERE and will include the revised cordon arrangements.
Piha R&R is pressing for answers to these and many more issues, but progress is restrained by the size and complexities related to the Anniversary weekend floods and Cyclone Gabrielle damage across the Auckland Region. Many issues are still being worked through by Council and prioritised. Updates will be shared with us when they are available.
