Piha R&R News Update - 29th October
Labour Weekend: We trust everyone was able to enjoy the best of the weather and avoid the patches of rain. Congratulations to Piha Pre-school for another memorable and successful Labour Day Market; great energy at the Bowling Club all weekend including the Saturday Halloween event, and a hearty welcome back to our Surf Lifeguards at Piha Surf Life Saving Club and United North Piha Lifeguard Service, back on duty for the summer.

Auckland Council Recovery Office have published the latest Update. It hold little interest for most of the Piha community except as mentioned above, and addresses none of the problems that still exist in Piha related to clearing of storm water drains, etc., that your R&R Association is still fighting for. Road Repairs: Currently there is very little information available that affects Piha. There is no information available about that “seemingly small and stupid” orange pole diversion an West Coast Road in Oratia. Karekare Road will remain Closed till Christmas and when opened, Lone Kauri will be Closed. See the latest Auckland Transport information HERE..
Book Keeper: Is there a book keeper in the community who would be interested in taking care of the Piha R&R accounts. This could be a voluntary effort or a part time employment opportunity, depending on the level of involvement. Email us for more information if interested.
Membership: We encourage all members of the Piha community to become members. Strong membership gives us a strong voice to advocate with Council for improved services, maintenance and infrastructure for Piha. Fees are currently $25 per member for the year. (1st November, 2024 thru 31 October, 2025.) This includes free copies of the Piha Community News. Please support your community.
