Piha Cyclone Recovery - 18 August Update

Auckland Council Recovery Office has published it’s latest newsletter, but largely it is a review of previosly issued information.

  • Drop-in this Saturday: The Recovery Office and Healthy Waters will be hosting another drop-in session on Saturday 26 August from 10am-12pm at the Piha Surf Life Saving Club. This consultation is a chance for residents to provide feedback on the Tāmaki Makaurau Recovery Plan and Making Space for Water initiatives. 

  • Piha Road Slip: This is NOT addressed in the newsletter, but Auckland Transport has advised Waitakere Ranges Local Board last week that, “They are still in early design stage, and I would say by next month when we update.” and “ We will inform the effect parties and surrounding roads.” This is contrary to earlier advice from Auckland Transport and most unsatisfactory. We are pressing for more information.
