Piha R&R News Update -28th January
Summer Madness: We thought that summer had finally arrived, and then we get an Anniversary weekend Sunday of colds winds and wintery rain !! We can only hope that summer will arrive in February. Meanwhile, the grass is dying through lack of rain and the weeds keep growing. The “patch-work” on Piha Road down the hill continues and we expect that will be followed by chip-sealing as they have don on Seaview Road where it is already starting to fail in high stress areas. We are talking to them. We thank all our first responders and surf lifeguards for their continuing and diligent service to the Piha community and visitors.
Road reserves grants scheme: registrations close 10 Feb: Was your property impacted by a slip on a road reserve? A road reserve is the strip of land between your property's boundary and the road or footpath. Homeowners with property access issues caused by road reserve landslips in the 2023 storms have until 10 February 2025 to register their interest for Auckland Council's limited one-off grants scheme.
Auckland Council Recovery Office published their latest Update (Jan. 23rd). The firt two items covering slips on the road corridor that affect property owners, and the Questions regarding Placard (Sticker) removal and assistance may be of interest to some Piha property owners affected by slips from the road reserve.
