Piha R&R has received the following from Auckland Council – Healthy Waters
This email is to introduce a proposed bridge camera trial for the consideration of the Piha Residents and Ratepayers Association and to seek the associations support to install the cameras. See the Proposal HERE

One of the actions in response to the Piha flooding events last year, was to investigate and install cameras at the two bridge locations on Glenesk Rd, to help operational staff determine flood debris build up on the bridges and operational response prior to and during extreme weather events.
These two locations are;
- Piha, Mill Rd Camp Bridge
- Seaview Rd Bridge
The installation of cameras at the above locations would be a pilot trial and investigation of this technology and its use for environmental monitoring.
The cameras themselves would be directed at the bridge and stream to capture information on the stream and bridge interaction both prior to and during events.
Attached is the presentation to the local board workshop on the 13th of June
The board are supportive of the camera use, and they have asked that the Piha residents and ratepayers be consulted further prior to proceeding with this trial.
