Over the past several months and years, Auckland Council Emergency Management has been working with local Piha organisations, including the Surf Clubs, Piha Fire Brigade, First Response, etc., to develop a “Resilience Plan” for Piha.
The end result is a multi page leaflet to be distributed to all residents, but first Auckland Council, Emergency Management want to share the proposed pan with the community. See below:

Have Your Say
Together with community leaders in Piha, we are creating a guide to help you manage risks and be disaster
ready. Understanding what hazards we face, being prepared for their impacts, and coming together to help
each other during emergencies are important aspects of being resilient.
Consultation is open from 29 July through to 11pm on 26 August. Make sure to let us know whether we are
on the right track by filling out our survey on aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/haveyoursay.
Join us at a community meeting on 4 August from 2-4pm at Barnett Hall, 2 North Piha Road. Come down
with your family, neighbours and friends to find out more and ask our staff your questions. This is a combined
Piha and Karekare resiliency meeting.
