A Community Meeting to discuss Emergency Management – Was held at Barnett Hall on June 17th
A lot of questions were answered by the impressive line-up of representatives from Vector, |Police, Red Cross, CDEM, Fire Service and Healthy Waters, at the community meeting on recent emergency events at Barnett Hall. Thanks to all those presenters and Piha community members who gave up their Sunday afternoon to come along and inform the community and answer the questions that were asked. Work is being done on a plan for Piha/Karekare/Anawhata and this will be taken out for community input when a good draft is ready. This work is being facilitated by the Waitakere Ranges Local Board who organised and led last Sunday’s event. Thanks Steve Tollestrup and Claire Louise.
For those who did not get a copy of the notes provided at the meeting, you can view and download them below. These notes, along with the information gathered on Sunday and a Draft Community Response Plan formulated in 2013 but never ratified, will be combined to form a Piha Civil defense and Emergency Management Plan.
