Piha residents have long resisted the change away from pre-paid Rubbish Bags on the basis that many driveways are difficult to negotiate with bins and for those that are not resident during the week, an empty bin is an open signal to potential thieves of a vacant property.
Auckland Council General Manager, Waste Solutions, Parul Sood has confirmed that for Piha residents Orange Rubbish Bags will remain an option for the foreseeable future. For further information see the Council website Bins to Bags HERE and Area Details HERE.
Confirming that the bags will be available from
- Piha Store
- Huia Store
- Libraries: Waitakere Central, Glen Eden, New Lynn, Blockhouse Bay, Avondale, Ranui, Massey, Te Atatu and Titrangi
- Service centres: Waitakere Central, New Lynn local board and Glen Eden local board
Will make sure that the information is provided on the website too.
