LORIKEETS are a danger to our to our Native Birds
WANTED! If you see these birds in Piha please can you call Art at DOC on 027 263 7703 or email him on apolkamov@doc.govt.nz
Please note the time and location, number of birds and any behaviour eg feeding. Please share. If they are near your house you can try to lure them inside with apple or broccolli then close them in and then call Art so he can come get them. They are Rainbow Lorikeets (NOT our usual rosellas) and a pest and big risk to native birds despite their bright, cute demeanor. DOC want to try and work out where they are in Piha.
