ANZAC Day 2015 – Saturday 25th April – 100 Years Anniversary
This day is in commemoration of all New Zealanders, and Australians, killed in wartime action in all wars and honours those servicemen and women who returned to us having fought for their country.
ANZAC Day is held every year on the anniversary of the landing by New Zealand and Australian troops on the Gallipoli Peninsular in 1915, in what is now Turkey, and resulted in the loss of 44,000 lives including almost 3,000 New Zealand and 8,700 Australian soldiers.
Each year the Piha RSA holds a Remeberance Service at Lion Rock following a march from the Clubrroms by representatives of returned and active servicemen and women and the Piha community.
