ADOPTION OF NEW POLICY AND BYLAW ON DOGS
Earlier this year you took the time to make a submission on the council’s proposed policy and bylaw on dogs.
We are writing to you now to let you know that after making changes in response to more than 10,000 submissions, the council adopted a new policy and bylaw on 22 November 2012. The new policy and bylaw come into force on 1 July 2013.

More information, including the policy, bylaw, up to date access arrangements, decisions made and the reasons for those decisions can viewed on council’s website at www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/bylaws. A copy of the policy and bylaw can also be viewed at your local council service centre.
More information will be provided to dog owners and the public closer to the time these rules come into effect on 1 July 2013.
